Weaving
Manufacturing of fabric is done manually. The weaver weaves with synchronized moves alternatively working with both his hands and feet. Moving the reed of the loom with his left hand, he increases the density of the thread while his right hand moves the shuttle in twitches which moves the weft to the left and right along its width. With his right foot on the footstool he enlarges the opening on the loom and his left foot raises and lowers the footstool that inserts a card with a design. Footstools or pedals are wooden laths placed next to each other eight in number. Equipment
There are 18 looms consisting of a frame (wood of the fir), a roller of the warp and a finished product, jacquard mechanism, a foot lever (pedal), a tensioning bar, leaves (8 pieces), weights (4.800–11.400 pieces), a cross reed, cards made of cardboard, a shuttle, a coiler for winding, 400–800 needles for punching cards (patterns) and a prism. Looms are in good condition and they were made manually at the end of the 19th century in Check Republic. They were made using a technique of riveting, gluing and pin riveting. They are 2,5 m long, 2,5 m wide and in comparison with the jacquard mechanism from 2,8 to 3,2 m high…
